PRIMARY BENEFITS
Cypress oil is frequently used in spas and by massage therapists because it has a fresh, clean aroma that is energizing and refreshing.
Two of its main monoterpenes compounds, α-pinene and 3 carene, help to reduce the appearance of blemishes and acne. They are also beneficial for oily skin and overall skin health. They also have a grounding effect, making it a popular oil to diffuse during times of transition or loss. Another compound, camphene, is used in cough syrups. Cypress oil is also a common treatment for warts and herpes simplex virus type 1(HSV-1), also known as oral herpes (cold sores). Plus, it can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
EMOTIONALLY
This powerful oil creates energetic flow and emotional catharsis. Stagnant energies are brought into motion through the fluid energy of this oil. Cypress works in the heart and mind, creating flexibility.
Emotionally, cypress teaches the soul how to let go of the past by moving with the flow of life. It is a good oil to use if you are feeling stuck, rigid, tense or over striving, or have perfectionistic tendencies that stem from fear and the need to control. It promotes flexibility, trusting, flowing with life, and adaptability.
