Poor Gut Health &

The Immune System

The digestive system is the unacknowledged frontline fighter against illness. Any breakdown here can lead to consequences elsewhere and chronic gut issues eventually lead to full body deterioration.

This deterioration can manifest in a variety of ways: mental health issues like anxiety, stress, depression, auto-immune diseases like Chron’s, Hashimoto’s, psoriasis, arthritis, malnutrition, cancer and so much more.

There are 6 main factors of poor gut health that negatively affect the immune system:

1. Poor sterilization

2. Gut infections

3. Poor nutrient absorption

4. Leaky gut

5. Imbalanced hormone production

6. Poor detoxification

Here is where we begin to piece together the importance of a healthy gut to harbor a strong immune system.

1. Poor Sterilization

When the acids and digestive enzymes in our gut are out of balance, we are unable to eliminate pathogens as efficiently, if at all. If we are unable to kill these pathogens in the stomach, they then pass on to the rest of the digestive tract and have a significantly higher chance of multiplying and causing a full-blown infection.
