The more recent publication of the results of 12 International scientific studies clarified the role of certain foods, such vegetables, fruits, fiber, omega 3 in cancer protection, and it had shown that the risk of cancer can be reduced by 30-50%. Plus, if you don’t smoke and if you do at least 30 minutes of daily exercise, your risk of cancer drops by at least 70%.
Did you know that every day our body produces cancer cells from abnormal cells, but many of them are destroyed through apoptosis (P53 gene) or via the immune system. However, a tumor may develop if both defense mechanisms are compromised.
Healthy food and dietary compounds help activate apoptosis and immune cell defense. Natural Killer Cells (NK cells) are special immune cells that directly kill cancer cells and are considered our first important line of defense against cancer. As we age the NK cells lose their activity and start to degenerate in a process known as immune senescence.
This is why aged peoples are more susceptible to cancer. The body’s immune system uses the same defenses against bacteria and viruses. If you have a good immune system, and especially NK cells, you are better protected against flu or other viral infections, including Coronavirus 19.
Some new research conducted at the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden, with groups of patients infected with the Coronavirus, has shown that NK cells may play a key role against the virus. So now we must learn how to better protect ourselves from cancer and/or viruses.
This has been definitively proven by tissue examination of people who died from accidents and not just pathology. Over 30% of such women and men over 40 years old have micro-tumors in the breast and prostate, and also in the pancreas and lung. The reason is simple. Every day of our lives some cancer cells are formed but destroyed, or not able to start a mass called a tumor because they are not able to attract blood vessels for food and supply of some oxygen in order to grow.
