It seems that music even helped to alleviate the nausea with people undergoing chemotherapy.

I had shared some of my music by CD with a friend who was undergoing chemotherapy. He was in stage 4 and eventually passed on, but about a year later I was at an event that his wife was also attending, and she came and talked with me. She told me that the harp music had been so helpful for her husband. It had really helped control the pain and nausea thresholds and she told me how grateful he was for the music.

Music Therapy and Pain

Music is well known to help people who are experiencing pain to be able to deal with it better. It is also worth noting that there are different types of pain. There is physical pain from an injury, but there is also emotional pain from an experience or a relationship.

One of the comments I received on one of my YouTube videos gave testimony to the way music helped relieve this emotional pain:

J.T. commented: “Mommy died in September 2015 - this is the first moment of peace I have had.”

Music Therapy and Parkinson’s Disease

There is a video posted on YouTube I hope you will watch it below::

It shows the transformation in the ability to walk with music in contrast to without music. It shows some amazing results. Seeing is believing!

Using Music Therapy for Other Health Purposes

I have seen many health issues affected by the addition of music. One person I received a comment from stated that they had dementia:

L. B. shared: “Thank you. So comforting at night. I have dementia and this just calms my insides and blesses my heart. God bless you!”

Many people tell me that the music helps them sleep; here’s a sample:

S. B. replied: “I suffered from insomnia for months and this music helps me to fall asleep.

What a blessing! Thank you.”

I even had one person tell me that they had been addicted to drugs and that the harp music had helped them come off and stay off of them.

I do not want to give the idea that music cures everything. There are many reasons to consult with doctors and medical personnel when we have health issues.

At the same time, I would also encourage you to consider using music at least as an adjunct to whatever medical regime you may be undergoing.

For certain good music is not harmful, and it just could be a great help. At the end of the day, you don’t even have to wait until you have a medical issue to turn on the music.

Music can be an enriching part of our everyday, healthy lifestyle.
