Then, a group of us boarded a bus, which had been kindly arranged by Dr. Bose, to take us on a cultural tour of the oldest parts of the city of Trivandrum, in which the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is located. On the way there we were kindly invited into the home of Drs. Valsala and M.R. Thampan (the GEP Secretary), who presented me with another shawl and plaque of appreciation. Then they treated us to a visit to the Kuthiramalika Palace. Seeing all the ancient artefacts, treasures, and how people lived in those days was truly fascinating.

With only an hour left, Mira and I rushed to Pothy’s, an amazing clothing store, for some retail therapy. As soon as I entered that fabulous store I realized that it would take several days to properly explore and shop there. OMG... those silk sari materials were exquisite! But, all I had time to buy was a pretty little dress for my granddaughter.

Unfortunately, there was not enough time to visit the home of Architect G. Shankar, a famous eco-architect, which other delegates visited the following day. So we rushed back to the hotel to pack, check out, say good-bye, and drive me to the airport. I was quite sad to leave Swamiji, Mira, all my colleagues, and the amazing experience I had at the GEP 2017, in Trivandrum, India.

The MISSION of the GEP is:
