Feet First: A Guide to Foot Reflexology

The Secret Joys of Being a Holistic Reflexologist

You may be thinking, what is a Holistic Reflexologist? Let’s start by looking at what a tradi-tional Reflexologist might do. A traditional Reflexologist focuses on stimulating the reflex points and areas in the feet, and sometimes in the hands, that correspond to each organ, gland, and part of the body.

Holistic Reflexology is based on the philosophy that Reflexology should be part of a broader methodology that encompasses wellness for the whole person–physically, mentally, emotion-ally, and spiritually. As a Holistic Reflexologist you create a healing environment that helps the client experience profound relaxation. You apply Reflexology techniques on the face and ears in addition to the feet and hands that are very calming and soothing, yet increase energy, balance and strengthen the body, and empower people in their lives.

Okay, Holistic Reflexology sounds great. But what about those ‘secret joys’?

Seeing the numbers of health and beauty professionals, artists, educators and people from all walks of life who have earned our Certification and practice as Holistic Reflexologists, there must be something more than meets the eye about Holistic Reflexology. In talking with many who have studied Holistic Reflexology with us, it is clear that one of those ‘secret joys’ is that Holistic Reflexologists experience positive transformation in their own lives as well as in the lives of those they touch.

Linda is a mother who came to Holistic Reflexology because she was looking for a new way to support and nurture her family, especially her child who was asthmatic. Using the skills she learned, Linda has been able to strengthen family bonds and is convinced she has contributed greatly to alleviating her child’s asthma symptoms. “The amazing results my family and I experienced gave me the confidence and inspiration to begin a new career in Holistic Reflexology. Now I feel like I’m making a huge contribution to my community.”

Peter is a massage therapist looking to advance his skills as a healer. He was interested in learning more about the non-intrusive, healing focus of Holistic Reflexology. “After just one class, I felt so uplifted. I experienced my own energy shifting and I instantly understood the healing value that I could provide to my massage clients. I discovered my path to true healing. I have found that Holistic Reflexology feels more like a meditation while performing it, so I can work on more clients in a day.”
