Curcumin is a good example. Curcumin decreases Beta-amyloid plaques, lipid peroxidation, and microglia formation. Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Overall, memory in patients with AD has improved when they take curcumin (3).  Fucoidan, a brown alga grown in Okinawa, is consumed by the natives as a food with anti-cancer properties and neuroprotective effects for AD. Nutrients that protect against free-radical damage and reactivate the mitochondria to increase ATP

Coenzyme Q10, alpha lipoic acid, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Vitamin B-complex, curcumin, quercetin, ginkgo biloba, Acetyl-L-carnitine, resveratrol, NADH, selenium, and omega 3 EFAs in balance.  A fatty acid balance is vital for rebuilding damaged membranes of the mitochondria, which can lead to a loss of function.

Each nutrient has some particular properties and efficacy. For instance, Coenzyme Q10 plays a vital role in activating the mitochondria and ATP production in the heart muscle.  It may also help to prevent heart failure. CoQ10 declines with age, but supplementation can help restore age-related brain damage. Studies have shown that sCoQ10 plays a vital role in cognitive health, heart health, and anti-aging.

Studies from Scandinavia demonstrate that long-term supplementation of selenium and CoQ10 are vital antioxidants that preserve the length of telomeres. As cells divide, the telomeres on each side of the chromosome get shorter. When they are too short, the cell no longer divides and becomes inactive, senescence, or dies. The shortening process is associated with aging and a higher risk of death.

A 42-monthly study with a group of 118 elderly Swedes, includes the intake of 200 mg of CoQ10 per day and 200 micrograms per day of selenium. After 42 months of supplementation, the group taking the supplementation showed significantly less shortening of telomeres compared to the placebo group. So, this is not only feeling better but change that occurs in your genes. Selenium is an essential trace element in the human body found in the brain, heart, lungs, liver, skeleton muscle, and kidney. Most people, especially the elderly, should take a daily dose of selenium (5). Alpha Lipoic acid, a powerful antioxidant, promotes S.O.D (superoxide dismutase), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. It is of paramount importance for ATP.

Activate DNA repair, build new tissues and healthy cells, and activate mitochondria function

Some of my favorite supplements I frequently take during the year and widely use in my practice are Sun Chlorella extract, fermented chlorella, and especially Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF), containing DNA, nucleotide peptides, and nucleic acid. The pure liquid extract of CGF has more than 10% DNA that helps to renew healthy cells. With age, there is a decline in DNA, de novo synthesis, produced by the liver, and thus, it affects the production of new cells that become imperfect. DNA food (salvage synthesis) supplies nucleic acids, which play a vital role in maintaining human life and slowing aging.

The ability of DNA restoration via exogenous DNA from some foods may increase the human lifespan. Algae, e.g., Fucoidan, are rich sources of nucleic acids.  It’s no wonder natives in Okinawa have a high rate of healthy longevity. Chlorella extract contains all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids required by our body, including being the richest source of chlorophyll on earth. Sun Chlorella is also very powerful in helping to rid the body of toxic chemicals and metals, including mercury, lead, aluminum, etc., resulting in better health conditions.

Promote longevity and healthy skeletal muscles

The NADH+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) molecule is in every cell.  It is critical and serves to activate the transport of electrons in the electron chain transport (ECT) of the mitochondria to generate large quantities of ATP energy and DNA repair. The more NADH a cell has available, the more ATP energy is derived. NADH declines with age and is associated with accelerated physical decline and the onset of age-related diseases like AD and PD. The Austrian scientist, Professor George Birkmeyer, MD, PhD, was the first to discover NADH (coenzyme 1) and to stabilize it in tablet form, making it bioavailable for human consumption.

When I met him in Vienna years ago, he was treating PD with NADH injections for patients in wheelchairs that could walk again after treatment. NADH is vital not only for the brain but also for the skeletal muscles. It is also excellent for aged people with physical difficulties. Be sure to find a reliable source of NADH.

Our body is uniquely complex. In each system, each organ functions as a source of energy. The body needs to defend itself and detoxify. Nature provides all the necessary enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and trace elements for the body to perform its daily duty. Our body is part of the cosmos since it shares at least four elements. Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen account for more than 90% of the atoms in a person. The weight of a person is mostly from oxygen and carbon.

Oxygen is not only found in the atmosphere but in the human body. For instance, a man weighing 176 pounds is 114 pounds of oxygen and 17 pounds of hydrogen. We need to pay more attention to our bodies instead of harming them daily with junk food, pollution, and stress.  We need to support it to perform its daily duty and to stay healthy.

Remember that pharmacological drugs cannot change anything to make you healthier.  They all have harmful side effects that can harm the body. The best richness is to be healthy and to age healthily.
