In 1907, Byron Robinson, MD, published a book in NYC called, “The Abdominal and Pelvic Brain”, with 670 pages and 207 with detailed drawings showing the relation between the colon and the brain. I also saw some drawings in an interesting article, “The Abdominal Brain and Enteric Nervous System”, published in the Journal of Alternative Complementary Medicine in 1999.
For decades with iridology, I have often noticed that nervous disorders in many patients originate in the colon. In 2004, after observing hundreds of irises, I published a book in Portuguese also called “Health Begin in the Colon” where for the first time I mentioned that Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer’s may have an origin in our intestine. Years later Science announced our intestinal second brain was linked with our primary brain and could be the cause of psychological disease and Parkinson’s. We have to give more attention to the problem of constipation that as a consequence produces toxins that disturb the nervous system. More recently, I heard about the report from Filip Scheperjais, a researcher at the University Hospital of Helsinki, Finland, saying that constipation precedes several years before the manifestation of nervous motor symptoms related to Parkinson’s disease. Is this anything new? No, but just goes to prove what we already discovered decades ago.
IRIDOLOGY AND DISEASE REFLEX
Another advantage of iridology is to determine if the disease is solely local or may have other causes that involve a reflex factor involving the collarette and the colon. Below we have an example of a neuro-genetic arc reflex in a case of ovarian cancer, which is clearly visible. Here we may understand how iridology is important in the prevention of disease. Early signs in the iris may indicate organ dysfunction or disease that may include cancer, however we have to be careful of what we say during an iris examination. My main concern is showing what I call a reflex disease, which was also named by Dr. Bernard Jensen as neurogenetic arc reflex. I have several good examples of pancreatic cancer, brain cancer, and lung cancer that you can see in my book, including the case of a 13 year old girl with chronic hepatitis, diagnosed at 8 years of age that turned into cirrhosis.
I have also included the iris of the mother and father so the reader can clearly understand the genetic origin of the disease that is visible in the right iris of the girl as a neuro-genetic arc reflex. Of course, her pediatric doctor always said that she was a healthy girl. Remember my explanation at the beginning of the article, being an Integrative Oncology Practitioner, I am one of the few who keeps using iridology to monitor the iris of my cancer patients. Thus, I take a holistic view of both the patient and disease.
I have spent much time observing the iris of breast cancer patients. I see what iris sign can be detected and if there is some reflex coming from the colon and the collarette, as found in this particular breast zone of the iris. After 20 years of observation, I developed an Iris chart of breast cancer profile, but it has never been published.
Remember what say Plato, the Greek philosopher (348\347 BC): We cannot attempt to cure one part of the body without treating the others. We cannot attempt to cure the body if we forget the soul.
Centuries before Christ, it was said, Ayurvedic medicine and especially Tibetan medicine consider the importance of the spirit as part of the treatment of disease, like cancer for example. They include diet, bath, acupuncture, yoga, prayer, herbs, water bath, enema, etc.
Our western medicine has now become a big industry, and the patient, a box to fill up with drugs and nothing more. Iridology can serve Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, or Tibetan medicine, but it cannot serve our orthodox medicine since the iris shows that drugs are poisoning the body instead of working to help restore a healthy condition.
