Dr. Henry Lindhar, M.D., D.O (1881-1940), known as the father of Natural Hygiene and the true cause of disease toxemia, introduced Iridology in the USA. In 1913, he published his first book “Nature Cure Philosophy and Practice,” which was a monumental work.

Other well-known practitioners who contributed an enormous amount of publications since 1913, include Dr. M. Mc Lain, F. W. Collins, German pioneers such as J. H. Kristzer, Peter Theil, Dr. J. Deck, MD, and Dr. J. Angerer. While we can say Iridology's teaching and practice were done empirically, the same can be said for medicine and even oncology at the beginning. On the other hand, Western medicine has been based on the concept of the unique localization of disease and symptoms which developed a wide array of invasive diagnostics and scans to detect disease. However, it fails to explain the cause of disease and especially how to prevent it. This is where iridology plays a key role.

Iridology is widely used in countries such as Germany, England, Australia, China, and Russia. In my book, I explain how I contributed to introducing iridology into the USSR, after I met with Dr. Fiodor Romashow, a famous Soviet medical doctor, who was immediately fascinated by Iridology. He later became the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, at the university in Moscow, where he introduced iridology as a new form of analysis outside of the regular curriculum he taught. Iridology spread very quickly in USSR and was even used in mental hospitals along with natural treatments and fasting under government authority.

DISCOVERY IN EMBRYOLOGY

Recent discoveries in embryology are finally showing some strong support regarding the relationship between the iris, the brain, the nervous system, the position of the organs found in the embryo, and then in the iris chart. With regard to human embryology, our iris tissue is derived from the same embryological layer as the nervous system, we call the ectoderm. Since the eye is formed from embryonic brain tissue, it has a real neurological umbilical cord in which the written data is developed from the parental body's condition and nervous system. In fact, the epithelial tissue of the iris is made up of the same tissue which develops the nervous system and the neuroectoderm. Therefore, all the parental inheritance is formed right at the beginning of the embryonic development.

It is interesting to learn that the hypothalamus (a region of the forebrain that controls the autonomic nervous system and the activity of the pituitary gland) has a rich neural connection with all aspects of the eyes, including the iris, pupil, pigmented retinal epithelium (IPB), retina, and sclera during its development and maturation in-utero. The hypothalamus receives, processes, and sends information to the eyes and iris constantly.

Observing both the brain area and the hypothalamus remains one of the major examinations areas in Iridology. In fact, the eyes are connected directly with the sympathetic nervous system and the spinal cord, while the optic tract extends to the thalamus area of the brain itself, functioning as a major relay and integration station for the information that goes to all the areas of the cerebral cortex, basal ganglia, hypothalamus, and brain stem.

conventional diagnostic testing may be able to reveal anything. When we are born, all the data related to the tissues of the organism, the nervous condition, the inherited constitution, the mechanical and psychological brain, the organs, and the lymphatic system are already imprinted in the iris stroma structure, just like a map or cartography. This includes the ganglions and the non-specific immune systems.
