Bringing SANITY Back to Eating

Dr. David Friedman

Figuring out what we should and shouldn’t be eating can be very frustrating. It seems like every year there’s a new fad diet touted as being the key to losing weight and reaching our optimal health.

Some tell us we should eat like our caveman ancestors (the Paleo diet), while others say we should eat like a gorilla (plant-based). Then there’s the experts that believe it’s not necessarily what we eat but when we eat that matters most (intermittent fasting). For decades, research showed eating fruit was vital to our good health. Now, we’re told fruit causes inflammation and should be eliminated (the keto diet). Coffee used to be considered unhealthy and now it prevents disease (Bulletproof diet.) With so much conflicting information, it’s enough to make your head spin.

As a syndicated television health expert and radio host, Dr. David Friedman spent 20 years interviewing guests with the hopes of bringing helpful information to his audience. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. Instead, each expert would contradict the previous guest, leaving everyone (including him) more confused.

So, Dr. Friedman set out on a 6-year mission to finally get the answer to the big question, “What are we supposed to eat?!” In addition to conducting his own clinical research, he also reviewed more than a thousand unbiased scientific studies and interviewed over a hundred scientists and world-renowned doctors. This culmination of work is what lead to Dr. Friedman’s international award-winning, #1 bestselling book, Food Sanity, How to Eat in a World of Fads and Fiction.

Masters of Health got the chance to sit down with Dr. Friedman and ask him questions to help make sense out of the never-ending diet debacle.
