The challenge we face is that we really don’t know where the whole foods we are buying at the supermarket are coming from, and the farmer’s market isn’t open year round.
When was the last time you knew the quality of soil or seeds of the plant you ate? To try to solve this dilemma, many turn to supplements. Unfortunately this leaves us in a roughly similar place of being unsure if we are truly getting whole food nutrition. This is why my team and I started Instafarm.ag - which we call the “future multivitamin”.
Instafarm started with the premise that we need to get back to growing our foods in nutrient and mineral rich soil. We developed a countertop unit that automatically grows organic soil-based micro greens. Micro greens are known to be extremely nutrient dense, sometimes containing as much as 40X the nutrient density of their adult counterpart plants.
The unit can fit up to nine Instafarm trays that come pre-filled with nutrient rich and high quality soil and seeds. The user has only to remove the lid from one of our variety of plant tray options and place the tray into the Instafarm.
The Instafarm does all of the work and produces 1+ trays of greens per day, enabling users to adapt the greens they eat to meet their particular health goals (i.e. prenatal/postpartum, children, athletes, etc.). These trays of micro greens, grown in your own home, are not only nutritious, but also make a tasty addition to smoothies, salads, sandwiches, soups, and many other culinary creations!
As communities, we have strayed from the knowledge of where our food supply comes from and the wisdom of true whole food nutrition and food as medicine.
