When a Coral Reef Dies
This compounded Haiku by poet, Kelly Gray-Meisner, creates a powerful images for us to ponder.
sun-screened lies killing
the backbone of the ocean
toxic stenosis
heat waves change habitats
life dependent on shelter
sea creatures homeless
basically starving
predatory plastic trash
confused for cuisine
coral canaries
ignored by human actions
robbed of oxygen
demineralized
all color leached and bleach out
whiteness is lethal
